Our Philosophy

Traditional principles with a modern edge.

At Lightning Strike Combat, we train with conviction and believe deeply in the value of martial arts. Our approach is rooted in the traditions of the Filipino Martial Art of Lightning Scientific Arnis, with the modern edge necessary for life in the 21st century. Our training incorporates impact and edged weapons as well as hand-to-hand techniques. Whether you are protecting yourself, neutralizing a threat, or fighting for the win, Lightning Strike Combat keeps you primed under pressure to act with power and precision.

Respond to Any Scenario

There are no ideal scenarios in life, so we must expect and prepare for an unpredictable world. We keep you on your toes in here so you can think on your feet out there, equipping you to use whatever tools are available for self-defense.

Intercept and Escalate

We don’t look for trouble, but we don’t want to be stuck reacting to an attack. The best defense is a strong counter-offense. We teach you to harness adrenaline and act with confidence at high speed, neutralizing the threat without the use of equalizers.

Pursue Excellence

Luck is a fickle thing. Don’t rely on it. We build skill through hard work, embracing the sweat and pressure for the sake of personal growth. We are dedicated to cultivating a lifestyle of strength, confidence and preparedness.

Train Together

Every class starts and ends by bowing our weapons in a circle as a reminder that we are an inclusive community, committed to improving ourselves and each other. It doesn’t matter where you start on this journey. It’s going to be a challenge, and it’s going to be fun!

Many instructors claim to be open minded in their beliefs and teachings, but then discourage an objective discussion concerning the validity of techniques they teach…I did not encounter any of these hang-ups with Angelo…I highly recommend anyone to study LSAI with Angelo.
